Planet K8T0 (KATO)
Planet K8T0 is a project that consisted of a series of assignments in which I and two other students got the opportunity to be mentored by an exceptional illustrator local to my area. The point of the assignments was to exercise not only illustrative abilities but design thinking in regards to a cohesive narrative and world.
For a sci-fi world, I designed and illustrated a strange solar system in which an earth-like planet and sun revolve around a larger planet; planet K8T0. Humans have started to live on the smaller planet but the climate conditions on K8T0 are so intense that it is uninhabitable by humans. The series of assignments explore the possible biomes that could exist on the planet, what suits or buildings humans may create to try to inhabit K8T0, and what unique alien creatures the humans may encounter. This post in particular focuses on the solar system and biomes.
